My Story

I love media, technology, data, information, learning, and keeping current because it is essential to be informed. After the primary industry I loved (publishing) imploded some years ago, I worked at Apple Inc. for eleven years, which was very exciting! I transitioned to working remotely a few years ago, working on projects for Appen Ltd., another global company. My Appen projects include internet-based research, data analytics, web search analysis, fact-checking, task analysis, logical reasoning, and Large Language Models (LLMs). One ongoing Appen project of mine is transcription work that includes general transcription, time-stamping, and speaker diarisation of audio files. I discovered that I loved doing it, so I decided to dive deeper into learning it to do it full-time. After researching courses, I selected Transcribe Anywhere, Janet Shaughnessy's course, and became even more drawn to the transcription process. I now have a Certificate of Achievement in General Transcription: Theory & Practice, and I have two years of experience in transcription under my belt. I am very excited to be here!
